Hiring Slows Dramatically in June in Warning Sign for Summer Housing Market Link
The U.S. economy added only 57,000 jobs in June, falling way short of what economists expected and showing that the job market isn't giving housing demand much of a boost.
Even though job growth slowed down, it isn't hurting the housing market either, as mortgage rates held steady and pending home sales actually rose for the seventh month in a row.
Bank of America uncovers shift in Gen Z homebuying Link
Roughly 32% of Gen Z homebuyers are now using AI tools to research the market, look into neighborhood trends, and estimate their affordability or mortgage payments.
Even though they trust AI for early research, these younger buyers still prefer working with human professionals when it comes to touring properties and reviewing legal contracts.

You already have a take on which AI lab ships next.
Claude or Gemini? OpenAI or Anthropic? GPT-7 before year-end or not? If you read tech newsletters, you've already formed opinions on all of it.
Kalshi has real-money markets on which AI model leads benchmarks this week, which lab ships AGI first, when Anthropic releases Mythos, whether OpenAI raises ChatGPT pricing, and which company has the best coding model at year-end. These aren't abstract questions — they're live markets with real money on both sides, moving as labs ship, benchmarks drop, and announcements land.
The edge belongs to whoever actually follows this space. Not the casual observer — the person who reads model cards, tracks evals, and notices when a new release outperforms the field before the mainstream press catches up.
That person has a genuine edge. If that's you, Kalshi lets you act on it.
Assessor Values: What They Reveal About Future Housing Shifts Link
Assessor values react slowly to real estate shifts, creating a valuation gap when compared against current market prices. This gap serves as an early indicator of upcoming market changes and neighborhood trends before they show up in standard housing statistics.
A widening gap where market value outpaces assessed value often points to hidden property appreciation or incoming neighborhood upgrades. Conversely, when market values drop below assessed values, it can signal future economic decline or falling demand in the area.
